my class speech about pangolins

Hello you probably already know my name but just in case  my name is briannah and i would like to talk to you about pangolins. You probably don't know what that is right well a pangolin is a mammal , it has scales all over its body except for the belly because when they feel threatened they will curl up in a ball to protect itself from predators like lions, leopards, hyenas, pythons and lots of other animals too.
Also their tongue can reach all the way down to their lower spine bone , that's crazy.
Their diet contains a wide variety of ants, termites, larvae and other bugs.
Did you know that pangolins are actually going extinct because of us humans?
They are being illegally poached and  stript of their scales and made into soup in some parts of china and asia.

They apparently call it a delicacy some also say that covid-19 generated from the consumption of pangolin and they also use the scales for a chinese medicine but  they don't realize that the scales of a pangolin are actually made out of the same material as fingernails, hair and even horns, yes it's made out of keratin  so why would they use pangolin scales instead you ask? because people believe that pangolin scales can cure asthma and cancer and their just like a rhinos horn they have no proven medical value and still they believe that it works. Don't you think that that's a little un humane because they have an option to use hair or fingernails to apparently cure things but then they still use pangolin.
I personally am very disappointed in these people for destroying such an amazing species for a medication that doesn't even believe to have work.
There is a rescue place in africa for pangolins to live a safe and environmentally friendly habitat with a couple staff members taking walks with the pangolins so they have a nice day out without having to worry about being turned into soup thank you for listening to my speech i hope you enjoyed and there are couple of rescue places you can donate to to help save these innocent adorable amazing species and here is a quote by david attenburruh
"An understanding of the natural world is a source of not only great curiosity, but great fulfilment."

thank you.
